The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred along the westbound lanes of President George Bush Turnpike near Josey Lane around 8:00pm on Sunday evening.

Carrollton Fire-Rescue and DPS Troopers were called to the scene after a pedestrian was struck on the highway. Officials say the man was involved in a prior collision and walking outside of his vehicle when he was fatally struck by a pickup truck.

Law enforcement says the driver of the pickup truck stopped to render aid.

Paramedics responded to the scene, but the pedestrian was already deceased.

All westbound lanes of the PGBT were closed while police investigated the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.

The Plano Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred this morning in the 3000 block of Dallas Parkway (service road of the Dallas North Tollway) in front of the Saltgrass Steakhouse.

Just before 7:30am this morning, Plano firefighters, paramedics, and police officers were dispatched to the scene after a vehicle collided with a tree. One vehicle was located with catastrophic damage.

It took firefighters around 15 minutes to extricate the driver, a 33-year-old female from Rowlett. She suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. Paramedics attempted resuscitation efforts, but her injuries were too severe. She was pronounced deceased after being transported to a local hospital.

Officials from the Plano PD say the vehicle was seen swerving across all lanes of the tollway before the driver exited at Parker Road. The vehicle continued straight on the service road at high speeds before the driver lost control and struck a tree.

“The car was unrecognizable. It looked like it went through a compactor,” said a witness who saw the crash.

Police say high speed was a factor in the crash. They believe alcohol also played a role, but are awaiting reports from the Medical Examiner to confirm that suspicion.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a serious crash that claimed the lives of two juveniles overnight Sunday on a rural Wise County road.

According to DPS Troopers, a pickup truck was traveling north on County Road 4757 when the driver swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway. This action caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which then hit several trees and overturned. The crash occurred around 2:30am Sunday morning.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 17-year-old male, was injured in the crash. Two passengers in the vehicle, identified as a 17-year-old female and 13-year-old male, were pronounced deceased at the scene. Both victims were from Odessa.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred last night at the intersection of North Pecan Street at East Long Avenue.

At around 11:00pm last night, multiple emergency responders were called to the scene of a major accident at the given intersection. One vehicle had reportedly caught fire after the impact. The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Unofficial reports from numerous witnesses say two vehicles were racing down Long Avenue when one of them collided with a vehicle not involved in the high speed activity. The innocent driver was leaving his relative’s house on North Pecan Street when the collision occurred.

The victim’s family says the deceased driver is a male who just recently turned 18 years old in late December.

All lanes of East Long Avenue were closed for hours while police investigated the scene.

Fort Worth PD’s traffic investigations unit is investigating the crash. No further details are available at this time. Updates will be published when released by officials.

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred earlier this morning in the 5500 block of Southeast Loop 820.

At around 7:32am, the Fort Worth Fire Department rolled up on a major accident along the westbound Interstate 20 service road to go northbound on Southeast Loop 820.

A woman in the vehicle, now identified as a 51-year-old woman from Fort Worth, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, the department’s Traffic Investigations Unit is investigating further details. There is no additional information available.

The Arlington Police Department has arrested a man after he accidentally shot his girlfriend on New Year’s Eve at a home in east Arlington.

At 12:25am, Arlington police officers responded to a house in the 1600 block of Connally Terrace after a 9-1-1 caller reported a shooting had occurred. When officers arrived, they located a woman deceased from a gunshot wound.

Investigators say the victim’s boyfriend went outside with the victim to fire gunshots into the air for the New Year’s holiday. When he pulled the trigger, the gun initially did not fire, so he threw the gun onto the ground. The victim picked up the gun and told him that a bullet had fallen out. The suspect took the gun and attempted to reload it when a round fired, striking the woman.

The victim, identified as a 39-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Arlington paramedics.

The suspect has been arrested on one count of Manslaughter.

The Arlington Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred on the evening of New Year’s Eve at the Las Lomas Apartments, 834 Timberlake Drive.

Two armed security officers and one Arlington police officer were at the apartments reviewing surveillance video from an earlier incident when they heard multiple gunshots outside the building. They went outside and located three men, one of whom fired shots at the officers. A security officer was grazed by one of the bullets.

This led to an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and three officers (two security guards and one on-duty APD officer).

The suspects jumped into a vehicle and fled off, but were located a short time later. They were all detained and found to be the ones who fired the shots at the apartment complex. Investigators believe the men went to the apartments to fire off celebratory gunfire. They have been identified as a 31-year-old man, 28-year-old man, and 24-year-old man.

Investigators believe a fourth individual was with them at the time of the shooting, and that individual may be in possession of the firearm used during the offense. They are currently working to identify and locate him along with the rifle used in the offense.

The shooting remains under investigation.

The Denton Police Department is investigating a major accident that occurred earlier this afternoon along Highway 380 (University Drive) at Nottingham Drive.

At around 4:35pm, multiple emergency responders from the city of Denton responded to the scene after two vehicles collided at the intersection. Reports indicate one vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and collided with another vehicle. There are reports that at least one person was ejected from the vehicle.

Officials say one person was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. A second individual was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

All lanes of Highway 380 (University Drive) have been closed while Denton police investigate the crash. Police expect the roadway to be opened around 9:00pm. Avoid the area.
