Yesterday at approximately 07:20 p.m., GPFD responded to a possible drowning call at Joe Pool Lake. The Grand Prairie Public Safety Dive Team conducted a search and recovered the body of a 27-year-old-male.

The male swimmer was not wearing a life vest. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

“As the lake season continues, GPFD strongly encourages the public to wear a life vest or other appropriate personal flotation device while near or in the water.”

Azle, TX – On Thursday, July 16, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Azle Police and Fire units were dispatched to a suspicious situation in the 200 block of Stewart Bend Court in Azle, Texas.

Due to the circumstances, officers made entry into the residence to check the welfare of the occupants.

Inside the home, officers located two adult females, a mother and daughter, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

Azle Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division worked closely with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers during the investigation. With the assistance of FLOCK cameras and evidence collected at the scene, investigators identified Joseph Gordon, of Fort Worth, as the suspect responsible for the murder of his wife and mother-in-law.

The Texas Rangers took Gordon into custody, and he is currently being processed at the Parker County Jail on two counts of Capital Murder.

At around 6:40pm this evening, Denton Fire and Police along with Denton County ESD #1/2 responded to reports of a possible drowning at a community pond near the 4800 block of Parkplace Drive in the Country Lakes neighborhood.

Emergency crews immediately began searching for the missing man in the water.

Lewisville FD responded with their dive team in coordination with the other resources from Denton FD and Denton County ESD #1/2. A drone team and sonar team also assisted in the search.

At around 9:00pm, crews recovered the body of the victim along with his dog.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine identity and cause of death.

The incident remains under investigation.

On Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, at 11:20am, Fort Worth Fire Department and Police Department were dispatched to a water emergency call in the 3100 block of Cooks Lane.

Emergency crews arrived to find an overturned kayak in a private pond.

Medical personnel attempted to save the individuals with life-saving care, but they were both pronounced deceased on scene.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.

At around 6:00pm on Sunday evening, July 12, Texas Game Wardens and other agencies responded to a possible drowning at Benbrook Lake.

Eyewitnesses reported a man went under water in a designated swimming area near Mustang Park, and did not resurface.

Texas Game Wardens, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and local emergency response agencies searched Sunday evening, but were not able to locate the victim.

The search resumed early Monday morning. Crews located the victim at around 9:30am Monday morning.

Authorities have identified him as a 62-year-old Fort Worth man.

The incident remains under investigation.

On July 10, 2026, at approximately 8 a.m., the Lewisville Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from the 200 block of E. Lake Park Rd. after a resident reported finding what appeared to be a discarded, deceased human fetus.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased fetus along the shoreline. Officers immediately secured the area and began searching for evidence.

LPD detectives conducted an on-scene investigation alongside investigators from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. Since that time, the scene has been cleared.

Preliminary information indicates the fetus was between 5 and 6 months’ gestation and was intentionally discarded at the location. The identity and other characteristics will ultimately be determined by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

This is an ongoing investigation, and details are subject to change as additional facts emerge.
